The Mill Creek City Council is seeking individuals interested in joining a new Mill Creek Economic Development Committee. This ad hoc committee will be responsible for developing and recommending ideas to the City Council to promote short- and long-term economic development in Mill Creek.

The Council will appoint to the Committee 10 to 15 people representing a cross-section of the community, which could include a range of business owners/operators (including professional services and retail), commercial property owners and Mill Creek residents who have expertise or interest in economic development. Anyone interested in serving on the Committee is invited to apply. Applicants must have a strong interest in Mill Creek’s long-term economic vitality and community character. Residency in Mill Creek is not a requirement.

The Committee will meet twice a month for a period of up to three months (with the option to extend if appropriate). The Committee is anticipated to begin meeting in May 2014. At the first meeting, the Committee will select a chairperson and set the day and time of subsequent meetings. City staff will be available to facilitate the meetings and provide administrative support as appropriate. Members are expected to attend the meetings and be active participants. The Economic Development Committee will be responsible for preparing a final report (and any interim reports it deems appropriate) and presenting it to the City Council.
